A literary scholar based at the Institute of Romance Studies at Jagiellonian University. She specializes in African literature written in Portuguese, particularly from Angola and Mozambique, as well as Spanish-language literature from Equatorial Guinea, which she analyses from the perspective of post-, de-, and transcolonial theory. In addition, she conducts research in the fields of Indigenous and gender studies, with a particular focus on African Black feminism. Her other interests include Afrocentrism and the Indigenous Humanities. She is the author of the following books: Muthiana orera, onroa vayi? Dokąd idziesz, piękna kobieto? Przemiany tożsamości kobiecej w powieściach mozambijskiej pisarki Pauliny Chiziane (2010) and Gdzie jesteś, Gwineo? Próby kształtowania tożsamości narodowej w twórczości pisarzy z Gwinei Równikowej (2017). She is also a co-author and co-editor of several books devoted to African literatures written in European languages: Kalejdoskop afrykański. Problematyka tożsamości w literaturze Afryki na przełomie XX i XXI wieku (2012); Współczesne afrykańskie literatury i inne teksty kultury w świetle postkolonialnych badań (2015); and Intelektualiści afrykańscy w obliczu dyktatury (2018). Since 2021, she has served as Chair of the Polish Society for African Studies.
