Reporter who was honoured by the PEN Club in 2016 for her ‘consistent storytelling of the history of the Polish intelligentsia’. She is the author of biographies of Jerzy Giedroyć (winner of the Odra Monthly Award, the Polityka Weekly Historical Award and the 2010 Nike Readers' Choice Award, translated into Lithuanian and Russian); Jan Strzelecki (nominated for the 2015 Nike Literary Award and a finalist for the Teresa Torańska Newsweek Award); and Tadeusz Różewicz (Vol. I, a finalist for the 2022 Juliusz Award). Her portrait collections include: W czasach szaleństwa (a finalist for the Juliusz and Gryfia Literary Awards, and nominated for the Nike and Angelus Awards in 2020), and Wytrąceni z milczenia (included in Polish Radio Programme II's canon of 25 books to celebrate 25 years of free Poland in 2014). The central theme of her work is resistance to the destructive ideologies of the 20th century. She has been a journalist for Gazeta Wyborcza for many years and served as a juror for the Ryszard Kapuściński Award for Literary Reportage (2017/18) and the Juliusz Upper Silesian Literary Award for Biography (2018/19).
