Actor and independent creator. For 10 years, he was an actor at the Wybrzeże Theatre. He currently plays the leading role in the production Ulysses, directed by Maja Kleczewska, at the Polish Theatre in Poznań. He directed Gogol’s Marriage, featuring students from art schools in the Tri-City area. The production earned him the Mayor of Gdynia’s Award in the Directing Debut category. He translated and directed Das Experiment, which received the Mayor of Gdańsk’s Award (2021) and was selected for the TEATR POLSKA programme (2022), organized by the Theatre Institute in Warsaw. He founded the Czarnypijar Foundation to produce staged readings and performances. In 2022, the Foundation received a grant from the City of Gdańsk for a reading of the play Kao i sve slobodne djevojke, which was staged in Sopot at the Goyki 3 Art Inkubator. This year, the production will be shown again as part of the event Theatre on the Road, with financial support from the Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. In previous years, he also received funding from the Marshal’s Office to stage the play Prapremiera polska, which was well received by Tri-City critics and audiences. The Foundation has also received grants from the City of Gdańsk for readings of the plays Terror (2023); And Surely the World Disappeared With Me (2023); and for the poetry initiative A to Polska właśnie (2024). Additionally, it received funding from the National Institute of Music and Dance (NIMiT) under the National Recovery Plan (KPO) for the 2024 production of Uroczysko, a performance inspired by Bolesław Leśmian’s poetic worlds and otherworlds.
