She teaches at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw. She is Head of the Department of Criminology. She has been involved since 1995 in Gender Studies at the Warsaw University, the Jagiellonian University and the Polish Academy of Sciences. She is a Fulbright scholar, and she completed judicial training. Platek is a co-founder of the Polish Association for Legal Education (1994) and initiated "Street Law" clinical classes in Poland (1995).
