Writer and translator born in Wrocław, with a degree in Polish studies. She made her debut in 2006 with the short story Rozmowa dyskwalifikacyjna, published in the online magazine Fahrenheit. She is the author of beloved reader favorites such as the Dożywocie and Małe Licho series, the short story collection Pierwsze słowo, the so-called ‘Wrocław series’ of novels, as well as bestselling crime comedies. She is a member of Harda Horda – Fantastic Women Writers of Poland, and the Literary Union (Unia Literacka). She has been nominated nine times for the Janusz A. Zajdel Award, receiving it in 2018 for the short story Szaławiła and again in 2019 for Pierwsze słowo. Her first children’s novel, Małe Licho i tajemnica Niebożątka, was twice named Best Children’s Book of 2018. The second installment, Małe Licho i anioł z kamienia, received the Book of the Year 2019 title from the Polish Section of IBBY. The third volume, Małe Licho i lato z diabłem, was awarded Book of the Year 2020 in the Lubimyczytac.pl readers’ poll and received a distinction from the Polish Section of IBBY. The final volume, Małe Licho i krok w nieznane, was named Book of the Year 2022 in the Lubimyczytac.pl poll in the children’s literature category.
