Headed the Göteborg Film Festival. She made her debut as a writer in 2019 with the poetry book Osebol consisting of transcripts of conversations with almost all the residents of the depopulating village where she grew up. The volume has been recognized with Sweden's most important awards, including the Swedish Publicists Association Award, Studieförbundet Vuxenskolans, the Borås Tidning Debut Award and the Göran Palm Scholarship. The English translation of Osebol by Peter Graves received the Warwick Prize for Women in Translation and was nominated for the British Academy Book Prize for Global Cultural Understanding. Osebol, translated by Justyna Czechowska, will be published this summer by the Ossolineum Publishing House in the Wygłosy poetic series. Kapla's second book, titled Kärlek på svenska, published in 2022, was nominated for the European Union Prize for Literature.
