He is a Romanian writer, scriptwriter and theatre director. He is also the general manager of National Museum of Romanian Literature Iași, and the manager of International Festival of Literature and Translation (FILIT – the most important literary festival in Romania). Between 2005 and 2008 (7 seasons) he was a scriptwriter for the “Animat Planet Show”, broadcast by the Antena 1 television channel in Romania, and has written screenplays for the feature-length film adaptations of “Our Circus Presents:”, “I’m a Communist Biddy” and “Lindefeld”, and the short films “A Good Day”, “Goose Chase” and many others. His books are translated and published in more than 10 countries around the world (USA, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland, Turkey, Republic of Macedonia etc.). He was awarder with several national and international prizes for literature, and his novel Matei Brunul was longlisted for the International Dublin Literary Prize (2020), longlisted for the Jan Michalski Prize (Switzerland), and shortlisted for the Angelus Award (Poland).
