He is a Romanian writer who lives in Iaşi and is a member of the ’’Writers’ Union’’. Humanitas Publishing House published his four latest books: Deborah (2019); America across the Pogrom (2021, America de peste pogrom) – the third edition and the other two editions appeared at Cartea Românească publishing house in 2014 and at Polirom in 2017; The 11^th Entry and Fontaine’s Young Ladies (2022, Poziţia a unsprezecea şi domnişoarele lui Fontaine); Mr Silberstein’s Strange Suitcase (2024, Strania valiză a domnului Silberstein). The novel America across the Pogrom has been translated into German, French and Polish, all of the three translations being warmly welcomed, with enthusiasm, by the critics and the wider public. Mihuleac’s writings themes deal with interracial hatred. His investigations needed a rigorous research into official and personal archives.The results are spectacular historic rescues converted into literature. For instance, the novel Deborah talks about the murder of a Jewish pupil by a nationalist student within the Palace of Justice in Cernăuţi. The crime was committed in the Fall of 1941 and the criminal was discharged and became a national hero. Mihuleac also published short story volumes and some of the stories were selected to be part of national and international anthologies. He has a PhD in Philology from the Al. I. Cuza University in Iaşi. His thesis The Pamphlet and the Note. Journalism or Literature? was published by the University Al. I. Cuza publishing house, Iaşi, in 2009. Cătălin Mihulesc was invited to international book festivals and gave public readings in Paris, Berlin, München, Prague, Wien, Nantes, Warsaw, Krakow etc..
