A journalist and writer born in 1962 in Warsaw, she studied German and Dutch philology as well as art history at the University of Warsaw. From 1991, she worked at Gazeta Wyborcza as a parliamentary reporter, Berlin correspondent, and the first editor-in-chief of Wysokie Obcasy. She also worked as an editor in the domestic, foreign, and culture sections, as well as Gazeta Świąteczna. From 2011 to 2016, she headed the portal Culture.pl, published by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, which provides information about Polish culture in Polish, English, Russian, and Ukrainian. Her first book, Tancerka i Zagłada – a biography of Pola Nireńska – was published in 2019 by Czerwone i Czarne and nominated for the Nike Literary Award in 2020. Her second book, Róża Luksemburg. Domem moim jest cały świat, was published in November 2024 by Marginesy.
